Pyrestorm Citadel

Where Ancient Grandeur Meets Alpine Comfort

Perched high above Whistler, our 1847 fortress has been reimagined as a luxury retreat that'll make you feel like you've stepped into a different era - but with way better heating and seriously comfy beds.

Fortress Interior

More Than Just a Place to Sleep

Look, we've all stayed at hotels that feel like they're trying too hard. This isn't that. The Citadel's been standing since 1847, weathering storms and keeping watch over these mountains long before Whistler became the destination it is today.

We've kept the soul of the fortress - the massive stone walls, the turrets, the sense of history that seeps through every corridor - but added everything you'd actually want. Like heated floors, a thermal spa that'll melt away whatever tension you brought with you, and views that honestly never get old.

What Makes Us Different

Six reasons folks keep coming back

Mountain View Suite

Mountain View Suites

Every room's got a view that'll have you snapping photos before your morning coffee. We're talking floor-to-ceiling windows facing the peaks, with interiors that blend historic charm and modern luxury.

Castle Tours

Heritage Experiences

Join our resident historian for tours through the fortress. There are secret passages, original fortifications, and stories that'll give you goosebumps. It's way cooler than any museum tour.

Thermal Spa

Alpine Spa & Thermal Wellness

Built into the old fortress foundations, our thermal spa uses natural hot springs. After a day on the slopes or trails, there's nothing quite like soaking in heated pools surrounded by ancient stone.

Fine Dining

Canadian Cuisine Done Right

Our chef's obsessed with local ingredients and traditional recipes with a twist. Think wild salmon, Alberta beef, BC wines, and maple everything. The great hall dining room's pretty spectacular too.

Adventure Concierge

Adventure Concierge

Whether you want to hit the backcountry, explore hidden trails, or find the best powder runs, our team knows these mountains like the back of their hands. They'll hook you up with gear and guides.

Event Venues

Private Events & Weddings

Getting married in a fortress overlooking the mountains? Yeah, people remember that. We've got spaces for intimate gatherings and big celebrations - all with that unforgettable backdrop.

Whistler Mountains

The Location Speaks for Itself

We're perched at 1,847 feet - yeah, same as the year the fortress was built, funny how that worked out - with Whistler Village just down the mountain. Close enough to hit the shops and nightlife, far enough that you get peace and quiet when you want it.

The ski lifts are a short drive, hiking trails literally start from our property, and if you're into mountain biking, you're gonna love what's around here. Plus, those sunsets? They hit different when you're watching from fortress walls.

Winter brings epic snow and that cozy fortress vibe. Summer's all about wildflowers, endless daylight, and alpine adventures. Honestly, there's no bad time to visit - each season's got its own magic.
